Climbing here is nice, because you have the beach just 30 minutes by car
from the cliff. A good bath at the end of a climbing day completes the
journey. At summer, routes are hard to do , because they are faced to south
.. At winter, temperature is good at the middle of the day. There is
only nesting protection in Spring time. Any way, pay attention to the signs in
the forest. If you want to climb here for a week, stay in one camping in
Albufeira or Faro area.
Ho to go there :
First, you must go in direction of Algarve taking the road IP-1. At S.
Bartolomeu de Messines get out of IP-1 and take the road to Benefim, going in
direction to village of Salir. Here, ask for the "Bar of Grutas" and go by
car more 6 Km . Let your car at the Bar das Grutas park and walk to the cliff.
Some sectors are difficult to find, because the cliff is out of sight by the
forest.
Staying
There is tolerance to camp near the routes.Any way ask people about that.
You can also arrange a cheap hostage in Salir, Benefim or camp in a camping park
in the area. For

Rock type
Rock is red and white limestone and the cliffs are 10 to 25 meters high. The
cliff face is oriented to south.
Routes
New routes are well equipped but the old ones are not. Be careful . The
first protection of the routes is normally placed very high. Grades are
between IV and 8b. This climb site is visited by high level climbers and is
not ideal for beginners.
